Jumping Out of Airplanes!

Our oldest son just arrived at Fort Benning, Georgia yesterday to begin his Airborne Training. I just can't believe that one of my children will be jumping out of airplanes! Just flying in a plane is not one of my favorite things to do, but then, to actually jump out of one is just unbelievable to me. I am both nervous and excited for him. I can't wait to talk to him after his first jump to hear his reaction.

He has done so well in the military and I am incredibly proud of all his hard work. I am honored to be his mother.

Today's Harvest

Miras is very excited about our garden this year.

He has helped all along the way with planting, watering, weeding and picking.

We are still waiting for our first ripe tomato. The nights have been pretty cool and tomatoes need hot days and warm nights. Hopefully we'll get one soon.

I am absolutely loving gardening. This is only our second year, but I have learned so much and hope to learn even more. I would like to try square foot gardening next year, but we will see.

Our Family

Jeff works as a project manager and is a wonderful husband and father. He likes all kinds of sports and can fix anything. Most importantly, he always has time for family.

Tammy (that's me) homeschools our youngest, loves to garden and make bread, teaches seminary (at 6:00 am) and LOVES being a mom.

Shane is our oldest. He is currently serving in the US Army and just graduated from his Medic Training. His next venture is Airborne and then on to Ranger Training. We miss him and are VERY proud of all his accomplishments.

Kelsey is our only daughter. She is a senior in high school this year and incredibly busy. She is Laurel class president. ( a church class for girls 16-18) , She is employed by Kroger and works very hard at school. She hopes to attend BYU after high school. She is so much fun and is great at making people laugh.

Miras is 10 years old. He LOVES swimming, judo competition, cub scouts, hanging out with his grandparents and life in general. He is incredibly active and keeps mom hopping! He will be in 4th grade this year and starting some co-op classes. He always keeps us smiling.

And thats just a little bit about our family.
